A lovely print by Anna Wright in for framing today. We've given it an elegant moulding which we've then painted and waxed to match one of the colours used in the artwork, a simple finish that shows off the print beautifully.

This stunning animal portrait by artist Kate Maxwell is done in pastel on Pastelmat paper. The paper has a velvety texture which reduces the need for fixative and takes the pastels beautifully, resulting in the amazing depth of colour Kate be able to achieve in this piece. The 'model' is Roxy, faithful hound of an old school friend of mine, Adrian Baughan.
We've framed the artwork with a hidden mount under the double mount...just in case any pastel does escape the magic paper. A silver frame and Artglass to reduce the reflections finish the piece off nicely :-)
Artweeks is all done, so back to the framing this week. This was a lovely idea for a piece of framing. A gentleman brought in this copy of 'True' by Spandau Ballet to be framed as a gift for his wife on their anniversary. It had been the first song they danced to at their wedding reception. He managed to pick up a copy of the single on EBay and we've framed it up for him :-)

Artweeks continues apace, but today I've been getting on with some framing. This is a gorgeous Chinese Dragon painting which we've floated over a rich blue mount with matching side walls. The painting is amazing, it looks like it was done very quickly and the precision of the brushwork is fantastic...:-)
Thank you to all the visitors that came to see us yesterday :-) I got a little work done on this green forest painting in between chatting with everyone, hopefully I'll make a bit more progress on it today. We're open from "now" until 4 o'clock. Free tea and coffee as always while you browse and chat. Artweeks is now up and running ! We're open everyday from 18th to 27th May. 10-6 most days, late night till 8 on Thursday and Friday. Sundays 10-4. We've got some new paintings and jewellery and I'll be (hopefully) producing some more work as the week progresses...come along if you can :-)
