Amazing Collage

Here is a piece by a customer of ours who makes these amazing collages commemorating her family members birthdays, anniversaries etc. They are so detailed, with photos, tickets, badges, all sorts of things highlighting different memories and events in someone's life. Framed in these rich, ornate silver frames, with double mounting on the main image and a single mount opening for a small dedication at the bottom they make a wonderful gift for the recipient and an amazing record of memories to be treasured. A great idea for anyone wanting to hand make a really special gift.

Roxy

 

This stunning animal portrait by artist Kate Maxwell is done in pastel on Pastelmat paper. The paper has a velvety texture which reduces the need for fixative and takes the pastels beautifully, resulting in the amazing depth of colour Kate be able to achieve in this piece. The 'model' is Roxy, faithful hound of an old school friend of mine, Adrian Baughan.

We've framed the artwork with a hidden mount under the double mount...just in case any pastel does escape the magic paper. A silver frame and Artglass to reduce the reflections finish the piece off nicely :-)

White Gold Apple Tree

 

This is one of my paintings that I've framed up for an exhibition next week (details below). I've used white gold in the painting, so I've echoed this in the framing using a similarly coloured slip. Surrounding that is a super glossy black frame. A hopefully super stylish look :-)

Pink Elephants...sort of...

Things

I'm just waiting for some things to dry, so I thought I'd post another of today's frames. This print on cloth has been simply mounted and framed in aluminium, with UV Artglass to preserve the vibrant colours. A really fun piece to work on :-)

Mirror mirror on the wall...

Here's the first of the gesso frames we're producing now. This one has been gilded in white gold, painted in off-white, limed and aged, then fitted with a beveled mirror. It's 19x23 inches and is on display in the shop now :-)

Reframing

This gorgeous watercolour came in for reframing having been dropped and damaged, a new silver moulding and a clean have restored it to its former glory :-)
