Green Forest Two...

Here’s another painting I’m working on at the moment. A customer bought the piece on the left from the SOTA gallery in Witney and wanted a second matching piece to go on the other side of their fireplace. I should get the painting part of things finished over the next few days, then it’ll be onto the gilding. I’ll post a few snaps as I go :)

Floating Canvas

Here’s another of the pieces we framed for Maureen’s exhibition at SOTA. A beautiful acrylic sunset. We floated the canvas within the frame by adding a small tray (the unpainted piece in the inset photo). Once painted this adds a lovely detail to the frame, giving the canvas space to breathe. Its a simple touch that makes a big difference when framing canvases.

Maureen Gillespie Solo Exhibition at SOTA in Witney

These are a selection of the paintings we’ve framed up for artist Maureen Gillespie’s solo exhibition which is currently running at the SOTA Gallery in Witney. It’s a beautiful collection of work inspired by her love of the countryside and sea. We’ve framed a number of originals in a variety of hand painted frames, along with some prints framed in oak. Her work has a wonderful sense of depth and the textures are gorgeous. Well worth a visit :)

Rollright Stones

These beautiful paintings of the Rollright Stones are by Mandy Selhurst. We framed a set of three in these hand painted white frames for Mandy and they are now hanging in the SOTA gallery in Witney. I'd imagine they'll sell very quickly so head over to SOTA and take a look at them before they're snapped up.

You can find out more about Mandy’s work at http://www.mandyselhurst.com

Jennifer Crowshaw

Here are a pair of beautiful mixed media pieces by Jennifer Crowshaw. We've used a metallic looking frame to reflect the lead used in the artwork and added a thin wooden slip, painted in a complimentary colour to soften things and add a little space between the artwork and main frame. For more information about Jennifer's work, contact the SOTA Gallery in Witney.

Faces of Witney 2013

Here is a little sneaky peak of the 'Faces Of Witney' artwork we framed up recently. It's an amazing photographic project by David Willoughby and the SOTA Gallery in Witney, which captured hundreds of images of local people, some wonderful characterful faces, beautifully photographed...were you one of them?

The artwork is currently on display at the SOTA Gallery, their details can be found...HERE.

Framer and frame

Here's one of the painted frames all finished. The colour is 'James' by Little Greene and its had a light wax to protect it. A sophisticated frame that sets off this very colourful, dramatic piece by Maureen Gillespie. You can find more of Maureen's work at the SOTA gallery in Witney

David Cameron

Today we've been framing up a fantastic set of caricatures of the Prime Minister, David Cameron. These were drawn for the Witney Music Festival in 2011. Each one has been signed by the Prime Minister and we've mounted a copy of a letter of authentication to the back of each frame. They now going on sale to raise money for a local charity, Sobell House. Hopefully they'll raise lots of money for a wonderful cause :-) contact SOTA for further details :-)

White Gold Apple Tree

This is one of my paintings that I've framed up for an exhibition next week (details below). I've used white gold in the painting, so I've echoed this in the framing using a similarly coloured slip. Surrounding that is a super glossy black frame. A hopefully super stylish look :-)
